Healthy Eating and Exercising

The things that prevent me from healthy eating and exercising is stressing and just being lazy. I try to exercise with co-workers but I procrastinate. I do try to work-out once or twice a week. Sometimes my husband don't make it any better because he bring a lot of snacks in the house that I like and it is hard to push it aside. The last couple of month I have been controlling my portions of food and incorporating more vegetables and fruits in my lunches. I have always served a pretty balance dinner with a vegetable, starch, and meat for my family. I am not a big soda drinker. I like to drink a lot of water and sometimes juice. I am hoping to continue on the right path so I can be healthy for myself and my family.

  1. I read your post, and it reminds me of myself. My boyfriend is very thin and no matter what he eats, he never gains weight. When we eat dinner or go out to eat I find myself eating like him, but unlike him I gain a lot of weight and much easier than he does. You said that being lazy is a reason for why you don't exercise but I think with deeper investigation you might change your answer. I feel like as mothers we are trying to do so many things, that exercising is put on the back burner. At least, you eat a healthy dinner, drink plenty of water, and don't fill up with sugar loaded soda. That is a start to be healthy.

  2. After reading your post, I can find at least one solution to your lack of exercise. Since you feel that being lazy is one of the reasons why you don't exercise, you could try joining in a membership at a gym. There are monthly fees to pay for a membership, maybe if you pay to exercise somewhere that will motivate you to go. I do not think anyone would want to pay for something they are not using, that might motivate you to overcome laziness and exercise. Come to think of it, I might take my own advice and try that out myself because laziness is also one of my problems.

  4. Procrastination is a problem for everyone including me! I like to have things scheduled with other people so that I know I have to be there on certain days to exercise. You might want to join a running team like Team in Training. I found that by belonging to a group, it makes you WANT to get up and exercise! Socializing is even better! I like to plan out my menus at the beginning of the week and go to the grocery store at night when it is not crowded. It also helps to go after you have eaten dinner! If you only buy healthy snacks at the store you will not be tempted to eat junk food at home!
